Open Systems Technologies, a full-service consulting firm that specializes in providing inclusive IT solutions to the Financial Services industry. Our client, one of the top financial services firms in the U.S. is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for their downtown Chicago, IL (1-2 blocks from the Metra and El Train stops) location.

This is a contracting position, 6 months to start (the likelihood of extension is almost guaranteed if your performance is strong). This position pays an hourly rate range of $45.00-$58.00 an hour (depending on experience).

This position doesn’t pay weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, it pays daily.

Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with internal and external teams to understand business and functional requirements to develop test plans, scripts and test cases while identifying project scope and risks.
• Analyzes and assesses user, functional and technical requirements.
• Execute tests and document testing requirements and processes for all applications to ensure QA policies and standards are met.
• Identify discrepancies, report defects utilizing the internal tracking application, communicate with the development team via established process, and track them to resolution.
• Work independently on projects assigned. Interact within a team structure and often on ad hoc basis and multiple activities.

Required Skills:
• Minimum five years of experience within a Financial (brokerage, Stock Exchange) Industry. Automated trading environment is a must. Incumbent must also have an understanding of SDLC process within a fast paced multi tiered architectural environment. UNIX and Linux experience is necessary along with SQL.
• FIX knowledge.
• Familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and how a QA methodology fits into the SDLC.
• Minimum Five years of software quality assurance and automated test tools.
• Must have knowledge of QA methodologies with the emphasis on writing and executing manual and automated test scripts.
• Experience with scriptable regression and/or load testing required.
• Demonstrated experience in leading projects with a timeframe of at least one month.
• Knowledge of defect tracking systems and processes; including change management, required.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of software version control and release management required.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing test plans, test scripts, and test cases using a proven methodology and documentation format required.
• Experience utilizing defect tracking software (preferably Team Tracker) and Stress and Capacity testing tools required.
• Must have some experience in testing large production, heavy transaction environments, particularly in working with networks where clients trade in real time using market data.
• Knowledge of Mercury Win Runner, Seque Silk, or Rational Team Test tools is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with Order Management Systems, Real Tick and/or the FIX protocol a plus.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Math, Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical or trade business professional work experience required.
